still hungry after reaching daily limit!

do you guys have any advice about what to do when it’s only 6 pm and your still hungry even though you ate all your allowed to eat for the day?  I usually stay up until 11 most nights with school work, so i have several hours to go before bed.  I did my workout today but i still should not eat anything else if i want to loose at least one pound this week.  What i need to do from now on is spread my calories out more evenly throughout the day, i ate too much before my work out so now i can’t have anything else.  Darn, i’ll try and not do that tomorrow!

if any of you have run into this problem (realizing that you’ve already hit the max calories for the day well before bedtime) please share how you avoid eating until the next morning.  Thanks! =)

Hey! Yeah I have that problem sometimes too, it’s tough :P I usually have a cup of tea, it helps to have something hot to drink without any calories in it. Then I distract myself with something else: either school work in my room at my desk, away from the fridge, or blogging, or watching dvds or something fun that distracts me from food. Sometimes if I’m just starving I have a small snack, like fruit and pb, but I measure it out and then stop when I’m finished.

    Good luck!

Mmmm, yeah, the honey-chamomile tea works GREAT for suppressing those late-night urges, but I have to tell you, the BEST thing you can do is go to bed early. Instead of staying up ’til 11 to do the work, go to bed at 8, then get up three hours early to do your work, then. You’ll be fresher, you can slug some coffee to get you revved up and rarin’ to go, and you’ll have done what your body needs. A lot of times, those evening carb cravings are because your brain is short on seratonin because it really wants to SLEEP.

I agree with the tea and keep yourself busy finishing a project, write someone special a letter, if you have a upstairs I always go and read books, take a warm bath and give yourself a pedicure, workout, call a friend, heck scrub your toilet hehe

I usually read blogs, it’s hard to take your mind off hunger but it could just be thirst. I drink two large glasses of ice water before bed. When I do cheat I keep it to pickles or dry cheerios.

well before i quit the last time because of boredom i was on a diet of eating smaller portions of food throughout the day *breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack* all in small portions. pretty much cutting a little bit out of each meal and eating them later for a snack it worked really well for me i had lost 5 pounds in a month with exercise

I find that in time I’ve adjusted to going to bed without having to feel full. Sometimes a cup of cocoa (sugar free) or a glass of milk will help.

I generally try to turn in early on those nights. I know though that you have to stay up later, so that isn’t much help to you now. I am not sure if you are doing calories or points? If you are doing points, the flex system allows you to have an additional 35 ‘free’ points a week (to be dispersed over the 7 day period). I haven’t even tapped into my ‘free’ points yet. I am allowed like 40 or 42 points a day and it takes ALOT to eat that many. I agree with Lara—gum helps alot. Also the filling up on water seems to help some. Once your body gets more used to the caloric drop, you will find that these times don’t happen near as often.

    Love and hugs,
    Sandi

I drink chamomile tea at night with stevia - stevia helps to curb hunger and it makes the tea nice and sweet.

MMMMM mint tea. Yep, a sweet tasting liquid will really help. Mint always taste sweet without actually being sweet.

Keep busy on here…drink hot tea…go to bed early.
If you are truly hungry and it does not go away, why not have a low cal snack like sugar free jello, fruit or celery.

I do the hot tea too.. it helps. I suggest stocking your fridge with some sugar free jello and using that. honestly it isn’t the best hunger suppressant, yet it does give you something to snack on w/o calories.
